As a member of the football team, Brady rarely had the chance to play his first two seasons on the team.In his junior year, however, he served as the starting quarterback. What came of a shock to him, his junior season, Brady became the starting quarterback. He threw 350 passes for 2,636 yards. Returning as starter for his final season, he helped lead his team to an Orange Bowl victory.
Going into the draft, Brady was picked up by the New England Patriots in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL draft. When starting quarterback Drew Bledsoe was injured, Brady took over. He proved himself to be a strong leader with a powerful arm. Brady finished the season playing 14 games, winning a remarkable 11 and losing only 3. He then helped the team secure a post-season win over the St. Louis Rams at Super Bowl XXXVI. he received the game's MVP award.
Brady remained the starting quarterback for the team. Two seasons later, Brady led the Patriots to another Super Bowl win over Carolina panthers and securing his second Super Bowl MVP award. And in 2004, won (once again) the super bowl defeating the Philadelphia Eagles 24-21. He then the beginning of the 2005 season, signed a six-year contract with the Patriots. The Patriots finished the regular season that year with a 12-4 record. .
The next season proved that the most unbelievable things can happen. The Patriots finished the regular season with a perfect record (16-0), but soon fell to one of their rivals (New York Giants) in Super Bowl XLII. With his many career accomplishments that Brady acquired over the years, he has been compared to such legendary quarterbacks as Joe Namath and Joe Montana.
